955,000 refers to a seminal 1970 conceptual art exhibition curated by the influential critic and writer Lucy R. Lippard, and featured featured over 60 pioneering conceptual, minimalist, and land artists from North America and Europe. The show waas an exploration into the "dematerialization" of art. Instead of a traditional book, the catalogue consists of a manila envelope containing roughly 130 to 150 loose 4 × 6 inch index cards. Each participating artist was invited to design their own card to represent their work. Bruce Nauman, Sol Lewitt, On Kawara, Eva Hesse, Richard Serra, Jeff Wall, Vito Acconci were among the artists involved.
